| Cyber-Safety Contest Winners During Techweek11 |

Every year during TechWeek, the Department of E-Commerce runs competitions in the schools. The response has always been enthusiastic and 2011 was no different.
Minister Minors said: "In the Primary Schools we challenged the students to a Cyber-Safety Awareness Contest. The students completed a Colouring Book exercise which featured the Bermuda Cyber Safety mascot, Cyber Cyd. "In the book Cyber Cyd and his friends from Hector's World discuss things that children can do to be safe in the digital world. Hector's World is a renowned cyber-safety program for children ages 2 through 9. I'm pleased to report that we received 424 complete individual pages and 84 complete colouring books from 7 primary schools. The top three student winners in the single page competition were 1st – Kwensi Cann, Purvis, 2nd – Jacari Renfroe, East End Primary, and 3rd – Bishop Zonders, St. Georges Preparatory. Honorable mentions were: Talae Place, Purvis, Anthasia Campbell, Purvis, and Markina Rawlins, Purvis. The top three student winners in the full book competition were 1st – Jzacharia Trott, Heron Bay, 2nd – Jasmine Simons, Heron Bay, and 3rd – Nyoqki Williams, Northlands. Honorable mentions were: Glenice Simmons, Northlands, Nanami Ingram, Northlands, Amari Maxwell, Heron Bay, and Noah Boteino, Northlands. The teacher with the most entries was Ms. Tracey Rayner from Northlands with 84 individual pages entered. Minister Minors said: "I would like to thank all students and teachers for taking the time to participate in this TechWeek events. These are important lessons for our young students to learn so they are technology-savvy in an increasingly technology dependent world."
